Could Be A Terrific App, But . . . .
Having discovered Food.com online, this app seemed like a great companion for researching new recipes or pulling recipes in my recipe box. After a few uses, however, I noticed that ingredients are double-listed, very frequently. For example, a carrot soup recipe calls for "3 pounds of carrots, or 15 carrots". That is how the recipe is written online.
In the app version of the recipe, carrots are included twice, once as "3 pounds" and once as "15 carrots", so a newbie might follow the app instructions to the letter and get a big mess. The same thing (in the same recipe) with the use of "chicken broth or water": Written as an either/or online, listed as two separate ingredients in the app version. To me, this is not just a little flaw, its a glaring error.
At being said, the abundance and variety of recipes is a wonderful resource when youre looking for something different to put on the dinner table. I simply go online when I want to use a recipe, and will continue to do so until the issue is addressed and fixed. For that reason, this app is no longer on my device.
